The Measure You Give Will be the Measure You Receive Back

Reading 1, Dn 9:4b-10

I prayed to Yahweeh, my God and made this confession: “Lord God, great and to be feared, you keep your Covenant and love for those who love you and observe your commandments. We have siined, we have not been just, we habe been rebels, and have turned away from your commandments and laws. We have not listened to your servants, the prophets, who have spoke in your name to our kings, leaders, fathers and to all the people of the land.
Lord, justice is yours, but ours is a face full of shame, as it is to this day – we, the people of Judah, the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the whole of Israel, near and far away, in all the lands where you have dispersed us because of the infidelity we have committed against you. Ours is the shame, O Lord for we, our kings, princes, fathers, have sinned against you. We hope for pardon and mercy from the Lord, because we have rebelled against him. E have not listened to the voice of Yahweeh, our God, or followed the Laws which he has given us through his servants, the prophets.

Responsorial Psalm, Psalms 79:8, 9, 11 & 13

“Lord, do not deal with us according to our sins.”

Gospel, Lk 6:36-38

Jesus said to his disciples, “Be merciful,  just as your Father is merciful.”
“Don’t be judge of others and you will not be judged; do not condemn and you will not be condemned; forgive and you will be forgiven; give and it will be given to you, and you will receive in your sack good measure, pressed down, full and running over. For the measure you give will be the measure you receive back.”

Ash Wednesday: "Remember, Man is dust, and unto dust you shall return."

"Remember, Man is dust, and unto dust you shall return."

1st Reading: Jl 2:12-18

“But when you give alms, do not let your left hand know what your right is doing, so that your alms-giving may be secret. And your Father who sees in secret will repay you. ...But when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face, so that you may not appear to be fasting, except to your Father who is hidden. And your Father who sees what is hidden will repay you.”

Ash Wednesday, in the Western Christian calendar, is the first day of Lent and occurs 46 days (40 days not counting Sundays) before Easter. It is amoveable fast, falling on a different date each year because it is dependent on the date of Easter. It can occur as early as February 4 (February 5 on leap years) or as late as March 10." [1]This year, this day falls on March 9, 2011. " [It] marks the beginning of the Season of Lent. It is a season of penance, reflection, and fasting which prepares us for Christ’s Resurrection on Easter Sunday, through which we attain redemption."[2]  "Ashes are a symbol of penance made sacramental by the blessing of the Church, and they help us develop a spirit of humility and sacrifice."[3]

On this day, we are being reminded of the humility of our existence. We are only like a dust, and unto dust we shall return. We are weak yet we are blessed because on that weakness, we come to realize that what we absolutely need is the supreme goodness of God.

On this day also, we are being asked of a little sacrifice that we could offer not really for Him but for the benefit of us. We are asked to fast and abstain from worldly things not really to make us isolated from it but to make us strong in terms of our spirituality that we may realize that what more important is God’s grace than any material possesion. This will aid us also for us to be strong in occasion of sin.

This beginning of Lenten season, we may reflected upon the importance of God’s Love and mercy despite of our wickedness and sinfulness. God give us so much value in creation. Having started from the dust, God has clothed us with splendour. He wraps us with His love. Thus, lenten season, as the gospel has said, is not about wearing gloomy gaces like the hypocrites do. It is our way as silent manifestation of our love to Him with so much joy in our hearts. In that way “your Father who sees what is hidden will repay you”.

I pray that this Lenten season may be filled with deepest and meaningful prayers, sacrifice, penance, reflection, fasting and joy which will prepare us for Christ's Resurrection.

Holy Reminder: Fasting and Abstinence
Catholics who are over the age of 18 and under 60 are required to fast, which means that they can eat only one complete meal and two smaller ones during the day. Catholics who are over the age of 14 are required to refrain from eating any meat on Ash Wednesday.[4]

Birthday Note: My Message of Gratitude for Him and for You

No greater love that God has given me but love,
Such love has brought me to existence though I am not asking for it...
My life is a gift that I could not pay for it in return...
And so, it is also love that I could show to Him my gratitude...

And so, as my heart is filled with joy to Him...
I am showing also my thanksgiving to you my friends,
For all your greetings that will keep me reminded
Of how I am precious to Him as He show me friends who care...

You, my friends, are the concrete example of His love to me.
I am not worthy of such glorious gift
But still He continously manifesting it in my life.
And so I thank you for being instruments of God’s love to me...

If God would give me hundred years, so I am just in a quarter path.
But whatever the numbers of years He will give,
My heart is already overflowing with praise and thanksgiving
For  blessings He bestowed as I am journeying towards His great eternity.

Thank you, Oh, thank you my dear friends
May the same blessings of God be with you...
And may our friendship continously grow until forever
Most especially our friendship with Him – God bless you!!!

Homiliya

An Salita ng Diyos doon muli isinulat

Time With The Lord

The universe is bounded with space and time
All is worrying how to live the rolling dime
For a man, time is busy like a growing vine
Still they don’t know the sweetness of older wine.

Time is gold, almost everyone believes in it.
That's why the people are busy racing with it
How possibly could man reach its destination
If the time now knows know limitation.

Only one being could cease the hand of the clock
He’s just waiting for the time your own hand to knock
He who knows no past and future but only now
Refreshing weary soul is his unbroken vow.

He’s waiting for you to be with Him alone
He simply want to know how your life going on
Loving Father He is, longing to hug you tight
To share with you happiness and beauty of life.

All have right time, so no such busiest creature
All men have in his heart time for his creator
In the arms of God, you can do miracle too
Because eternity will be given to you.

Trust to him all of your worries, pains and hung-ups
And He will comfort, instruct you and lift you up
Share with Him your faith, hope and love and joy of your soul
And you will feel the greatest happiness of all.

MIRACLES OF THE MOTHER VALLANKANNI

There was a miracle in Vallankanni Church. Till today nobody would have heard about it in the church of Vallankanni. One Sunday, Mother Mary appeared in a form of an infant to a person. She told him don't be afraid, have faith and listen to me, I am to this world. Print 2000 leaflets to my name and receive all goodness in life. Do it in my name. Saying this, Mother Mary (who was in the form of infant) disappeared. Hearing this, the man in Viashalatnam printed 515 leaflets and distributed the same. After a few days the man received blessings of Mother Mary and got 50 rupee takes by lottery. In Agra, a man printed 615 leaflets. Within 24 days, he got a pot of gold coins through the blessings of Mother Mary. A poor man who thought of printing this message was blessed by Mother Mary and got a job. Later he printed 1000 leaflets in thanksgiving. Another person who did not believe in this, mocked this and destroyed the leaflets. This disbeliever made him lose his son. A man passed in Rashal, Agra read the message and delayed it by month. He had a great loss in his business and lost his wife. In a palace called Lathara, 5 people together printed 2530 leaflets and distributed the same. Mother Mary blessed them and they received good profit in their business. Hearing this, a poor man printed 1000 leaflets. He's faith in the mother helps him getting 50 rupee takes in to a place called Mangavinar. A poor family printed 1000 leaflets, Mother Mary blessed them and they got everything they ask for. A family in an old Mangalay Cahnne;, 22 who came across this message delayed by spreading the same in 15 days, their new automobile met an accident and lost a lot of money, they faced many problems in family. As Jesus said, "ask and you shall received, seek and you shall find". So ask with faith and you will receive it. Print this leaflets within 10 days. Spreading this message, of our Mother Mary and Jesus, and you will receive all the blessings and achieve all what you want. Please do not destroy this after reading. Give it to others. Respect his Holy Name.
